The film according to
Otoniel Serra
I met Rogério Sganzerla via Helena Ignez, my friend and former colleague from the Theatrical School of the Federal University of Bahia.
In 1970, when I was 30, Rogério invited me to film with him. This made me both excited and nervous. We started in the shanty town. Slowly I began integrating with the team. It was a great feeling.
"Copacabana, Mon Amour" opened all the doors to my courage, my sensitivity. I gave my body and soul to this project. I did things that I had never imagined and it felt great. Rogério always encouraged me. I would thank God for everything that was happening to me. Sometimes it seemed as if we were just messing around, but it was all very serious.
Everything had a true, political meaning. Via Rogério Sganzerla and "Copacabana, Mon Amour" I completely discovered myself as a cinema actor, which is what I am to this day.
Thanks, Rogério!
